Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Contempt with grandparent visitation

We are filing a contempt against the paternal grandmother due to the fact she is not holding up the agreement made.

I have found the papers to which she signed, I signed, and attorneys signed. But cannot find it with the judges signature.

We have a different attorney now to handle the contempt. Would we still be able to proceed without the judge's signature, since her signature is there? Can our new attorney find the original form that the judge can sign. Either way, I'm trying to find out it we can continue with this matter without the judge's signature on the form I have. I'd ask my attorney, but she is not in the office and I am trying for a quicker response. Thank you.

If a judge signed an order a copy of it can be obtained from the court file. If your county makes its court documents available on line, your attorney can download it from the court website. Otherwise someone will have to go to the courthouse, get the court jacket, and have a copy made. Of course, if an order was never signed by a judge, you have nothing to base a contempt petition on. You could find this out by the calling the clerk's office at the courthouse and they can review the docket entries.
