Re: to continue alimony

You will need to file a petition to modify the original award with the same judge who granted the alimony as part of the divorce. You will have to demonstrate that events which were unforeseen at the time of the divorce have prevented you from attaining a level of self-support since the divorce. It's not likely you will be successful in this without an experienced family attorney representing you. If you can't afford one and can qualify for a pro bono attorney, go to the bar association in your county and ask for help.
