Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

criminal records/child visitation

My wife and I have some criminal

charges on our records that involve

drugs and thefts. These charges date

back to 2004 and 2005 and we were

both found guilty.(no jail time- but

probation) More recently my wife has

had some traffic tickets over the last

year.

Can these charges be used to alter

my visitation with my kids from a

previous marraige? (the kids ages are

18 and 12)

Re: criminal records/child visitation

First of all, your 18 year old is an adult and visitation no longer applies. You and this child can make any arrangements you want without court or the mother's approval.

As to the younger child, your wife's traffic charges are irrelevent. The more serious charges from 04-05 shouldn't be significant either because of the time interval, especially if you have been enjoying visitation since then.
