Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Custody

I am 15 yrs old I do not want to see my bio. father anymore. How do I go about making this happen or at least get the time cut down that i have to go with him. I cannot have friends and I have a job that time with him interfers with and I need the money for college and a car which he will not help with. When can I file to get away from him, he has abused me in the past (he has two reports in with DSS) I am just miserable and would like my life back so I can enjoy my high school years, I am honor roll and very responible. He has broken the custody order several times.

Try talking or at least writing/emailing your father, explaining why you would like to reduce the contacts in view of your other time constraints. Propose an alternative schedule. If he objects, let him file a court petition, which would give you a chance to explain your situation to a judge in privacy. Make sure dad understands that this is entirely your own doing so he doesn't accuse mom of instigating it and tries to have her held in contempt.
