Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Difference between a JD vs. PA?

Just beginning my divorce proceedings.

I met a person who calls herself: Jane Smith, PA, Attorney at Law. Is a PA the same as a JD? What's the difference between the two? What does PA stand for?
