What can I do
I am currently disabled I have lung disease I am filing for ssi. now while filing for this what do I do about child support I have NO income. Will child support take my disabilitiy and no income into consideration? what can i do legally about this child support issue I already owe past amounts.

Re: What can I do
If your child support obligation was based on income you no longer have, you can petition the court for a reduction. However, if you start receiving ssi, that will count as income toward determining your child support obligation. You will not be able to avoid paying any accrued back support, so the longer you wait to do this, the more back support you will owe.
