How should a woman seize common assets so they will not be shared in divorce?

If by common assets you mean property acquired during your marriage by purchase, by law what you are contemplating is illegal. If you take control of a joint bank account and transfer the funds to your own account, your husband could require you to account for those funds as part of a divorce proceeding, and the court could order you to pay him back his share.
