Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

i am going through a divorce and i'm trying to get a credit card debt resolved within the divorce proceedings. i've supplied the courts with my credit card statement showing that the debt was transferred from his card to mine as well as a document in which he states "it was my debt but now it's under your name dummy."

On two occassions, the Master has told me that I need to get legal assistance in resolving this issue, which is holding the divorce up because he doesn't want to pay 1 penny towards it. The Master stated "there's only so much the court can do" but she told me to seek legal council.

A friend told me that i can't go into divorce court like i would judge judy, which is why i haven't been successful yet.

I need to find an attorney who can assist me in doing whatever it is that needs to be done to resolve this issue, as the debt is $8900 but i'm also seeking interest penalties that have accumulated as well.

The complaint may need to be revised to resolve this debt and/or a motion brought. Documentation pertaining to what constitutes the balance is also needed. The document that you refer to (i.e. his acknowledgment) is important and I would need to see it. Any orders from the Court that pertain to this aspect of your divorce are also relevant. Kindly contact me so that I can review necessary documents. I may ask that you prepare a spreadsheet detailing the debt as well as any assets acquired during the marriage. I can be reached at 410 750 2567.
