Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

I am divorced and my ex-husband and I share joint physical custody of our 4 year old daughter, I am considering re-locating to a different state (Oklahoma) in order to live with my dad and attend college full-time to pursue a degree in Psychology, the move would greatly increase the standard of living for my daughter and I, what is the likelihood a judge would allow the move?

There are several factors that the judge will consider, including any objection your ex-husband may have regarding your daughter's relocation. He cannot stop you from moving, but he can move to modify custody.

However, if you want to move, the first step should be to discuss it with your ex-husband. He may not object to the move. At that point, you simply have to file a consent motion.
