Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland
Getting divorced
My husband walked out on me and his kids 3/23/07. When he left he cleaned out our savings and the only thing he has been paying for is the mortgage. What I want to know is he opened two other accounts where he is hiding money and I want to see the statements he say I am not entitled to see them, so am I entiled or not, and what else am I entitled to as far as money, his 401, his retirement....etc

Re: Getting divorced
As part of a divorce proceeding, you are entitled to see records of all of his assets, which would include the things you described in your inquiry. These items would be considered marital property, subject to being divided between the two of you as part of the divorce case.
Your husband is also obligated to provide child support for the children if they are still minors. The amount of support is determined by your combined incomes. You will shortly have grounds for divorce based on his desertion of you of one year duration.
An experienced family law attorney can assist you in protecting and pursuing your rights.
