Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

I got divorced in 2011. As part of our uncontested divorce, my ex agreed to a settlement (not alimony) of $25k to be paid $500 per month. He never paid. I took him back to court, got a contempt ruling and a judgment for $25k. He was given 30 days to pay $1k to purge himself of the contempt charge. He never paid. The courthouse said in order for the court to 'do' anything I need to ask for it, but they would not tell me what I can do. What would my next step be? He isn't working a 'regular' job (he gets paid cash), has no assets. I don't care if he ends up in jail at this point. Help!!

You need to ask the court to issue a body attachment to enforce the contempt citation. The sheriff will be directed to take him into custody and bring him before the court for a subsequent hearing. He could be held in custody until he at least pays the $1k, but you could ask the court to order more since he violated the previous order.
