Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

I was divorced in the State of Maryland 16 years ago. I then moved to Pennsylvania. My ex-wife has never remarried. My daughter said that my ex-wife told her over the holidays that she is entitled to 50% of my Social Security if she never remarries. I don't believe that I signed anything to that effect. Is this true?

If you were married for at least 10 years, when she turns 62 and remains single she can claim under your benefits, unless her own benefits would be greater than yours. As to the amount of your benefits that she could claim if eligible, that would depend on your respective benefit levels. Go on socialsecurity.gov for more detailed information.
