Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

divorced about 7 years ago in the divorce agreement agreed to pay him 40000 at sale of house or if remarried.I took the interest as alimony payment and bought house for him and paid of all marritly debt.sold house and is now bringing me to court for payment. found out he was living with other woman and had child while we were married and told minor son to lie to me about it the whole. due i have case not to pay him funds ?

The fact that you've now discovered long after the divorce that he was unfaithful is not grounds for avoiding your duties under the divorce agreement. The agreement probably says that each of you is waiving any "fault" grounds for divorce and that it is based upon separation. As far as what you did afterward regarding his house, if that was not part of the agreement and you were doing it voluntarily, you should have tried to negotiate a change in the agreement regarding the house proceeds at the time.
