Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Dr.'s Appointments made by the ex-wife

My husband's ex-wife called and left a message on our answering machine stating that she had made a doctor's appointment for their daughter but that she could not keep the appointment but that if my husband (which by the way we just learned about the appointment by her calling and leaving a message on our machine) didn't keep the appointment that he would be billed and charged $90.00 for the appointment. Can she do this legally since my husband did not make the appointment to begin with?

Unless your husband is the billing parent on the doctor's account, he won't be charged. If your husband doesn't want to take his daughter to the doctor, the simple solution is to cancel the appointment. Perhaps he ought to find out why his ex made the appointment to see whether it might be wise--for the child--to be seen by the doctor.
