Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

establishing jurisdiction

I have sole custody of my daughter. Father still resides in Virginia; daughter and I have resided in MD for two years. Can I motion for change of venue for visitation/support cases or do they have to stay in VA because he still resides there?
