Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland
establishing jurisdiction
I have sole custody of my daughter. Father still resides in Virginia; daughter and I have resided in MD for two years. Can I motion for change of venue for visitation/support cases or do they have to stay in VA because he still resides there?

You can enroll the order in Maryland and then move to modify it.

Juridiction can transfer to Maryland. Support would modify based on Maryland's statute. Enforcement would occur through Maryland. Any enforcement upon his wages would need to be coordinated through Virginia.
