Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

I am expecting a baby by my ex, and he wanted me to get an abortion but I didnt. I am giving the parental rights to my aunt, but he does not know. If he finds out, could he sue me/my aunt for not giving him a say even if he didn't want it?

If he finds out, he may try to exercise his parental rights by seeking visitation or custody. If he doesn't want the child, you might consider having the aunt adopt the child and getting his permission. You may want to discuss your dilemma with a social worker or hire an attorney to obtain full advice. If you cannot afford an attorney, contact Maryland Volunteer Lawyer Service.
