Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Family Law/ child support

I was awarded back child support for my destitute adult child. The order was signed and official as of Sept. 26th. My ex has made no attempt to pay. What can I do without having to hire a lawyer ?

If your ex is employed, you can go back to court and ask for an earnings withholding order. Once signed, you serve this on the employer and it is required to deduct the monthly amount from your ex's paycheck and send it to you. If your circuit court has a pro se program for family law, speak to one of the people in that program and they can help you with the paperwork.
