Getting a family member out of my house

My house was left to me and my mom in my fathers will.My mom has dementia and can`t help me.My brother and his wife have moved in.He`s become violent and abusive and I need to get him out of my home. I`m afraid.What can I do?

Re: Getting a family member out of my house

You can file a petition in your local court (District or Circuit) under the Md. domestic violence law, asking that your brother be removed from the home for your protection. If initially granted, the police or sheriff will remove him immediately, but then there will be a court hearing a week later at which you will have to testify as to his abusive conduct, and he will be entitled to defend himself.
