Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

My father who got custody of me in my parents divorce back in 1970, turned right around and gave a relative temporary custody and then abandon me with them. They raised me. Since he never came back, isn't there a statute or law of some kind that would make me legally their child?

No. In the absence of an adoption by the relative or a termination of parental rights, you are still the legal child of your father (and mother).
