Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland
A father is paying his child support on time and taking care of other things such as clothing, food and camp expenses among other things but his sons mother is extremely vindictive and knows how to work the system. Why do the courts continue to recognize only the rights of the mother, and treats the father like a deadbeat when he is far from that? Then the courts complain that fathers are not taking care of their children. It's not fair. How can this father protect himself when the courts don't?

Continue to pay your child support payments graciously and on time. KEEP GOOD RECORDS OF YOUR PAYMENTS. If you pay in cash, GET A SIGNED RECEIPT. Go above and beyond the court ordered MINIMUM RESPONSIBILITY and help your children have successful lives. When you give your time and money, it is for the benefit of your children -- try to set your emotions towards the mother aside. You children will thank you later in life and will be there to take care of you when you can no longer care for yourself.
At the same time, INSIST on your rights as co-parent. If your wife interferes with your ability to see your children at the court ordered times, you should immediately bring this to the Court's attention. If your wife is not acting appropriately or otherwise causing problems, let the Court know. The Court is interested in one thing -- what is in the best interest of your children. The Court could care less about being fair to you or the mother. It's all about the kids.
Best of luck.******The above does not establish an attorney-client relationship and is for informational purposes only.*******
Would be happy to answer your questions, but your post is full of conclusions, rather than facts. If the father is paying the required child support and more, what precisely is it that the mother is doing to "work the system" and make the father look bad? Either the father is in compliance with obligations imposed by court order or agreement, or he's not.
If you want to provide more facts, I'd be happy to try to provide a more specific response.
