Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

File for continuance have no lawyer yet,she does.

With no court ordered custody, never married, she filed for sole legal custody, I responded for joint and shared holidays. Applied for lawyer thru legal svc., nothing yet, she just got lawyer I recieved papers for release of documents ans interrogatories, can't answer on my own, court in one month, need more time!

I suggest you contact her lawyer and explain the problem, and he or she will probably give you some extra time. But if you want to pursue this you'll need to get an attorney right away. If your case is in one of the larger MD counties, you should be able to get a lawyer at reduced cost through the county bar association's lawyer referral service within a fairly short period of time--assuming you meet the income guidelines. If you don't you'll have to work out your own fee arrangement with a lawyer.
