Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland
Flights between Parents
I am the father of a 9-year old who currently splits travel costs during the Summer transition. I have him for the entire Summer, and she has him during the school year. We have agreed to split these flights for this period. She moved out to Alaska and the plane tickets are expensive. I am currently getting him for Christmas and now she has informed me she will no longer split the tickets for Christmas with me. What is the law on this? In all fairness she moved out there and I feel she should at a minimum split the cost with me.

Re: Flights between Parents
My experience is that if you file for a modification of the the original order you will be awarded at the very least a split for the Christmas vacation. I would file for her to pay 100% due her decision to move and the distance of her new location. But it must be in the order to be enforceable. Feel free to contact me (reasonable) representation in this matter.
