Re: grandparents rights

A grandparent has the right to ask for reasonable visitation with the grandchild. The court looks at a number of factors to determine if visitation with the grandparents is in the best interest of the child. These factors include the current and past relationship with the grandparents, impact visitation will have on the child, the potential benefits and detriments to granting visitation, the effect grandparent visitation would have on the childs attachment to the family, the physical and emotional health of the parties and any other factors the Court feels is relevant. But keep in mind, everything always boils down to the best interests of the child and not the wishes of the grandparent.
