Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Grown Problem Child

We have a 23 year old son at home who has a bad temper and doesn't work. He has been in trouble several times with misdeameanor convictions. He pays no rent or helps around the house. The wife and I are both disabled. What do we have to do to get him moved out of the house and how long do we have to give him to find a place to live?

Re: Grown Problem Child

Your situation is quite unfortunate as you are trying to help someone who appears to be doing little more than hurting you in return. If he threatens or lays his hands upon you then you can call the police and they will remove him from the home.

The case will require prosecution. You can seek a restraining order through this process.

Be aware that he may have a mood disorder, substance abuse or other problem which could lead him to act irrationally.

You may want to contact the Department of Social Services and inquire as to job training or some other program. There are many needing help and not enough resources.

You may have other alternatives but I would need to speak with you so as to acquire more factual understanding. You should contact an attorney.
