Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland
My husband is divorced, has shared custody of his daughter and is the custodial parent. His daughter lived with us (I am his current wife) and attended school in our area. My step-daughter died in an auto accident and I have since given her mother all of my daughter's things that she has requested. The ex-wife continues to request copies of her daughter's personal journals. This is something that my husband and I do not think is appropriate to send to her. If the journals had been at her mother's house, her father would not be requesting them. Do we need to give her a copy of these?

You're under no legal obligation to do so. If for some reason she were to decide to go to court over this, it would depend on the outcome of that.
