Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland
My husband and I were married in 07/06. I have emails from a female co-worker of his dated 08/08 stating how she loved him, he promised her all this time before he went overseas, etc. I also had my thoughts of their "relationship" from her spending so much time with him, being at his house in SC all hours of the night and moving right next door to him while were separted (04/07-12/07). We reconciled while living 3 states away and he went overseas (09/08). In 02/09 I had a flirtatious relationship with a co-worker thru text mesgs and emails that last 2 weeks during a rough phase in my marriage. It eneded and my husband returned from overseas in 09/09. He saw the emails that month and I denied any sexual relations w/the co-worker (as there were none). I did finally admit (via email and phone convos) to flirting and I believed there was condonation from him b/c we built and purchased a house together in 12/09 which was completed in 05/10, after which we moved in with our family. In 07/10 my husband said he wanted a divorce and was going to file under adultery...does he have sufficient grounds to do so since it's been 20 months since my emails to the co-worker and we moved on with our marriage, family and built/purchased a house together worth over $530,000? I have since admitted (via email and phone convos with my husband) that it was an inappropiate relationship and that the co-worker tried to do sexual acts with me while I was drunk once, but no sex actually happened. Can I file a contested answer under grounds of adultery against him as well for his previous relationship if he's able to do it with mine (even after condonation)? Thanks for any advice given...

I recommend that you hire a Maryland family law attorney to discuss the specifics of your case. If you reconciled, it will be difficult for either of you to claim adultery.
