Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

My husband and I officially divorced in November 2010 (Maryland). I still live in the family home and have asked my ex on numerous occasions to pick up his belongings (both inside and outside of the home). He still has items left in the backyard and has not made arrangements to retrieve them or given me a specific time for getting them (he also doesn't respond to emails or phone calls). At what point can I claim rights to the property and dispose of them as I see fit (they have some monetary value)?

Do not sell the property. Write a letter to your ex explaining that he has 10 days to come get his stuff (and list the stuff specifically). Tell him that if he does not pick it up within 10 days, you will leave it on the curb to be picked up by the garbage truck. His choice. Of course, if you consult an attorney about the specifics of your case, you will get the best result possible.

Best of luck.
