Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland
Incorrect child support assessment
In my last trial in October, the master's assessment of the arrearagage was short by 200 dollars because he left out one month. We are going back to court in two weeks because ex wants to lower CS to due to economic hardship, yet he has no change in circumstances. Can I bring this up correction to the arrearages?
Can he get a downward modification due to economic hardship. He still has same job and bills. He bought a new car last month and now planning a vacation.

Re: Incorrect child support assessment
To challenge a decision of the Master, you have to file exceptions within 10 days of the master's decision. Your failure to do so precludes further review. As to a modification, if your ex can show a significant change in circumstances through no fault of his own, the court has discretion to reduce the support amount. If he has the same income, he won't get it.
