Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

jailed for contempt of visitation and filed modification already

I have sole custody of 1 daughter. I have moved to another part of town. I had to change daughter day care. I did not let the father know what daycare she was attending for fear of him doing what he did at the previous two daycare's. I have tried to continue with a previous order visitation schedule, which was a ok because the distance was not a factor. Now that I live in another part of the state and have changed her daycare. He want to resume with the same schedule. Its difficult because they are always late making me late for work and plans. Her dad says its not his problem that I moved so far and he shouldn't be inconvenience because of my ''poor decisions'' So he got a lawyer and had me served at my daughters daycare cause he doesn't know where I live. I can not longer jeopardize my daughter and my time for this. I have decided to be in contempt and offer a makeup schedule because its unfair to my daughter and myself. She had to miss school 1 day. She is 3 yrs old and attend Pre K at an academy. Will they send me to prison for doing this?

Re: jailed for contempt of visitation and filed modification already

The court has options in dealing with contempt, one of which is jail. You do not want to "accept" that you are in contempt. You need an attorney.
