Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Joint custody

I have joint legal and physical custody of my 2 children. I have just come to find that my husband has a for sale sign on his home. He has not made me aware that he is moving or told me where he is moving too. Doesn't he have to give me 30 day written notice of where he is moving. We received the custody in Balto co. MD Thanks

Re: Joint custody

Unless there is an agreement between you and your husband regarding this issue, or it's required by the court order, he's not required to notify you. However, if his move makes the practicalities of shared physical custody unworkable, you need to address this. You should find out where he intends to move, and if it is too far from you, you may want to consider seeking a change in the custody arrangement.

Unless his move is a material change then you are unlikely to prevail favorably. Joe Holthaus (410) 799-9002
