Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Judge's Reccommendations & Order?

In a divorce / custody / support case...are the judge's reccommendations the same as the order? Can the reccommendations be enforced even if the order doesn't have the exact same wording? The other party signed these reccommendations stating they agree to these conditions yet now they don't want to pay their part of things. They say they are JUST reccomendations and not court ordered. So are they enforcable or not?

Thank You

Re: Judge's Reccommendations & Order?

I assume you are referring to the recommendations of a Master, which were then signed in the form of an Order by a judge. The Order is enforceable and should reflect the recommendations unless exceptions were filed and ruled upon. If the Order is erroneous, it may be possible to have it amended depending upon how much time has passed since it was signed by a judge.
