I think My Lawyer Mislead me .on how much my divorce would cost
When i first started with the proceedings she gave me papers to read . i figured the divorce would cost about $70.00 dollars which was very expensive to me. Now It have already cost me $150.000. and I recently got another bill for $60.000. I am now waiting for the final papers to come from the other lawyer. I feel My lawyer .Was very misleading. do I have to pay her all that money. When I tell people how much she has ended charging me .their mouths drop . is there anything I can do. -

If you think getting a divorce for $210 is expensive, you are not being realistic. You and the lawyer should have signed a written retainer agreement at the outset which set forth her fees and what services she would be rendering. Then there would be no misunderstanding now.

Your note is confusing. Are you talking about $210.00 or $210,000.00? Is there a retainer agreement? Divorce is not cheap. You should have a signed agreement setting forth what you will be charged.
