He did not and he also charged me extra to file papers and he did not follow up and give my paper work on my retirement and now the ''x'' is not paying the loans that he agreed to they are calling me and I don't want to call the lawyer because i can't afford to pay for the phone calls and they still I still owe them money for the other paper work that I dont think i should have to pay Ithought everything was included in one price he said no that I payed for the divorce and even if the ''x'' is in contempt of court they won't help

Re: I think my lawyer is a problem

You should have a written retainer agreement with your lawyer that spells out how he is being paid and what services he is rendering. Most lawyers handle these cases on a fee for services basis, so much per hour. If your agreement calls for a fixed fee, then it should spell out exactly what he is doing for you for that fee. If the agreement ended with the entry of the divorce, then the lawyer is justified in expecting to be paid for work required by your ex's breach of the agreement. If you feel a complaint about your lawyer's performance is justifed, you can contact the Attorney Grievance Commission or the fee arbitration committee of your county bar association.
