You will need to obtain the Court's consent before you move, not the father's. Of course, if the father consents, it will make matters easier. I would strongly recommend that you try and work out a new visitation arrangement (if the current one will no longer work when you move) with the father BEFORE you go the Court. If you go to the Court as a united front, it makes things easier. If you cannot get on the same page as the father in terms of visitation, you will have to let the judge decide.
