Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

I have been living with someone since August. We moved in together in August but my name is not on the lease. Tonight he threatened me with a gun and I called the police. However, I was told to leave the apartment because I had no bills showing that I lived there. I had to leave all of my furniture and belongings. What are my rights.

You certainly have a right to recover your personal property, but unless you had an agreement with the other party as to your respective responsibilities for rent and related expenses, if he is the only one on the lease you would just be a guest subject to his control of the premises. Given the circumstances I'm assuming all you are really interested in is your belongings. If he won't turn them over voluntarily you might have to go to court and file a lawsuit called a replevin action.
