Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland
I m in Ohio my kids are in Maryland with my husband since last august. I moved here with kids last June with a mutual decision that my husband will follow us here. Instead he changed his mind and forced me to break my contract with company and bring kids back. Then he filed emergency custody in august 09 which was dismissed. We discussed and came up with a plan that we will reconcile and work our differences and in the meanwhile i will try relocating and he will watch kids. Now i was planing to see the kids for the summer to bring them over here but he is refusing. I went to pick them up last weekend he left with them out of time and since last week i don't know where the kids are. he is refusing to let me bring kids over or talk to them on phone.,

Since it appears that there is no custody order in place, you both have equal rights to the children. File a complaint for custody in Maryland. In addition, if you are concerned for the safety and well-being of the children, it may be wise to file an emergency petition. You can also call the local police department and ask them to check on the well-being of the children if you know where they are. I would recommend consulting with an experienced family law attorney in Maryland to discuss your options in detail.
