Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland
How can a man adopt another man's children?
Hello, I am currently engaged and have two children by another man. My fiance asked me to find some information on adoption because he would like to adopt the children. So my question is this: is this even possible?; what will happen if my fiance does adopt them? will they have his last name now? will child support no longer be collected from the biological father?; is this process reversible? Thank you.

The children could be adopted. The children's names could change or remain the same. Child support will no longer be legally enforceable after the adoption is complete.
Theoritically the adoption could be reversed through a second adoption back to the biological parent; however, this is something that would not be advised as a court is not likely to see such an action as being in the best interest of the children.
