Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

marital distribution of household items

My spouse left our marital home in 2005, leaving no forwarding address, filed bankruptcy leaving me with all the morgage dept. and taking with him all the big money household items such as big screen tv, new furniture, and approx. 10,000 in construction tools, ect...now 2009, I am served with divorce papers from Maryland and am approaching a settlement conference, how do I prove items he took that have no title or can be traced. With his word against mine, how do I request and get a settlement amount? What can I do to help my case with the court? We have grown children together that have knowedge of items he took but I do not want to involve them in court.

Re: marital distribution of household items

Sounds like you have only two choices - roll over and let him get away with it or bring you adult children into it. No matter what state this is occurring in, you have to put forth credible evidence of what you are claiming.
