Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Marital Property

Would a house that I had fully owned b/f marriage become at risk in a divorce if my spouse paid the property taxes (there is no mortgage on it) for it and or paid for maintenance or improvements? What do I do to avoid risking this property?

Re: Marital Property

If you brought the property into the marriage and there was no mortgage on it when you got married, it should not be treated as marital property. If the mortgage was paid off after you got married, your wife would have a marital interest to the extent of the curtailment of the mortgage, but it would probably be very small.
