marriage certificate amendment need

I need to amend/change my marriage certificate. The certificate has the wrong

marital status ''single'' , and I should be ''divorced''.

What would be the language to be used in such a document?

I am not sure why you feel the need to do this, but I suggest you contact the license bureau in the county where you live and ask them what the procedure is. They may have a form you can complete and submit along with your divorce degree.
