Never married, mother of child deceased and father taking care of the child. Child has Mother's last name and mother never indicated the father's name on birth certificate. Father wants child's

name changed. Filled out forms

DR62, DR65, and CCJO32. How

can father prove that's his child?father in Howard county Maryland

If this becomes necessary, father and child can submit dna samples for analysis. Companies that perform these tests can be found through inquiry with the court clerk's office. Initially father should just submit an affidavit claiming paternity and if no one opposes, the tests may be unnecessary.
