Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

I have been married for 13 years. I will soon be leaving my husband and going to NY. He owned a business and did not pay taxes and we (filed married and living together) owe several thousand dollars to the IRS. If I get an annulment will I still be liable for this debt? I had no involvement with his company. Also, do I file for annulment in MD or NY?

After 13 years of marriage an annulment will be almost impossible to obtain. What is the basis for you seeking the annulment? Do you mean you are DIVORCING your husband? Whether you file for the annulment or a divorce, you will likely need to file in MD if that's where you and your husband currently live.

An annulment is not likely to be granted. You can obtain a divorce. IRS may release you.
