If I marry my live-in girlfriend, am I responsible for any debt she has in her name?

No, you are not responsible for her individual debts. But keep in mind that if she does not pay, her creditors, if they obtain judgment(s) against her, may be able to attach her wages or property. If you have any jointly titled property with her, under certain circumstances, your assets may be at risk.
