Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland
My niece was placed in my care through DSS. We are going to court because dss made a recommendation to have her moved to another relative against the wishes of both her parents. I have several forms of proof that I was treated wrong and discriminized by dss. If the courts agree with their recommendation and my niece is moved, can I appeal the judges decision?

Yes, but it would not be a successful appeal unless the judge made a legal error. In other words, how the judge decides the facts, assuming there is evidence to support his/her findings, will not be overturned by an appeal. If you think you have good evidence to support your being the best option for custody of your niece, you ought to seek the representation of an experienced family attorney to assist you. You may financially qualify for a low cost or even pro bono (free) attorney through your county bar association.
You can appeal but it appears you need representation now. You should contact an attorney. I provide a free phone consultation and am available to discuss your case. 410-750-2567
