Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland
non Custodial parent Out of state Visitation issues
The children are with me. He can afford an attorney because he does not pay child support and refuses to do so until they visit him in Connecticut. I cannot afford or find an attorney to attend the ''SCHEDULED CONFERENCE'' in two weeks. He rarely visits and does not maintain medical insurance that is most needed for one of our twins. I have gotten them medical assistance but the doctor that she needs to see doesnt accept it. Our girls are 9yrs old and the last time he came here 2/24/07 he brought his girlfriend with him and i thought that was a good idea for the kids to meet her but they proceeded to do sexually oriented things in front of the kids while they had them at the hotel. The children were highly upset and now refuse to go anywhere with him. What can I do to get the court to know about this when I dont have a lawyer and the children honestly do not want to be made to go with him ? He has expressed to me that the reason that he wants them to visit him there because its ''Cheaper for him''. By him not wanting to be involved like he should this also adds to them not wanting to go. I have to encourage the girls to go with him when he does come here. Will what these kids feel be considered? Or because he paid for a lawye

If you cannot afford an attorney, I would recommend contacting the Legal Aid Society or the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service. Both are listed on the Baltimore City Circuit Court website: http://www.baltocts.state.md.us/family/representation.htm
