Paternity Adjudication

I am going through the child support procedure and the court sent me a letter for Paternity adjudication. What is that? I am no familiar with the process.

Re: Paternity Adjudication

Since the parents were not married at the time of the birth, the father has to be proven to be the father, or if he admits it, declared to be, so he can be held responsible for child support.
