Personal Property
I have changed residence and cannot retrieve my personal possesions. What can I do to gain possesion on my belongings?

You have to go to the District Court in your county and file a suit known as a replevin action. The clerk will give you the complaint form to fill out. You state the facts including a description of the property being wrongfully withhold and ask the court to order the defendant (person retaining possession of the property) to return it to you.

If this is part of a separation, or divorce action, you should consult with a divorce attorney, like myself, who can assist you in getting your property back as well as other related aspects of your case.
