Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

I have physical custody of my child and I have joint legal custody with the mother. I sent my child to visit the mother for a vacation break in California, per the court order. The mother did not send our child back when she was suppose to and specifically stated that she would not. The mother was on the run for three days with my child. My child called me and specifically stated that the mother was keeping him/her against their will. My child contacted me and asked me to arrange to have him come home to me. I did and my child escaped into the care of a friend while I flew out to bring him back home. My child missed three days of school in the process and I had to pay for airline tickets to get my child.

What legal actions can I take against the mother?

This is a horrible situation. File for contempt and request, among other things, recovery of the costs for the flight, attorney's fees, and costs. You may also consider filing to limit the time she spends with the child.
