Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

post-divorce question

I was granted a divorce from my husband in June 2001. It was an uncontested, absolute divorce and my husband and I have joint custody of our 2 boys. He gave me the house in the divorce and agreed to have his name removed from the deed. Part of the agreement was that in exchange for allowing me to keep the house and the boys, he does not pay child support or alimony of any kind. His name has not yet been removed from the deed, but I would like to have the locks changed on the doors. I would just feel more comfortable having new locks put on. Can I legally do this while his name is still on the deed to the house?

Re: post-divorce question

There are very few posts on this website that I cannot answer directly, but I have more questions than answers for you right now. Did you have the agreement incorporated or merged into the divorce decree? Have you attempted to have him held in breach of contract for the agreement? Why did you forego child support, it MAY be unenforceable!

Can you please call or email me?
